Undoubtedly, Discovery Channel has a massive viewership. The channel enthusiasts might surely have watched its weeklong television series dedicated to sharks. The Channel airs this series once in a year, i.e. in July or August, since 1988. This year marks the 25 anniversary of the series and it will be shown between 12 and 16 August. The series will have an automotive essence this time, for Volkswagen America is sponsoring it.
To mark this special event, Volkswagen has gone beyond to advertise its name and products and has created one-of-a-kind Volkswagen Shark observation cage. The Beetle shaped cage has been developed in collaboration with marine biologist and shark expert, Luke Tipple, who helped VW design and build the Shark cage.
The design cures of the VW shark cage blends silhouette of shark fin and Beetle to take the form. In order to make viewers know how the Shark Cage was designed, built and submerged, Volkswagen will make three one-minute segments, which will be shown during Shark Week programming.
