Due to greenhouse effect, the average temperature of our planet is rising very fast. The summer months have become more unbearable than before. Not just you even your car can feel the rise in temperature. Cars are a necessary commodity for all of us. Without it, tackling tough daily schedules will be difficult. That is why you should be careful about its maintenance.
In the summer months, heat can damage your carโs engine and other parts. Excessive heat can stop your car from functioning normally. When the car gets heated, you have to turn on its AC system for cooling it down. This can increase your expenses. There are some easy ways of keeping your cars cool even in the middle of the summer season. We have discussed some such tips in the following.
Find a shade for parking:
You should always park your car in a shady place during the summer months. If you keep your car in a place flooded with sunrays then unnecessarily heat will get trapped inside it. Not just the bonnet but also the engine and the seats will get heated. Exposure to sunlight may trap many harmful UV rays inside the car. By parking it at a shady place, you can save your car from damage. Driving or traveling in a heated car can be very uncomfortable and running the AC raises your monthly expenses. Avail the underground parking facility or find a tree under which you can park your car safely.
Vent the windows:
This is a no-brainer. You should always roll down the windows while driving if the AC is off so that air flows through the car and reduces the temperature.
Tinted glasses:
Tinted glass protects your carโs interior from getting heated. Buy tinted glasses for the side windows and change the rear glass. Make sure that the tinted glasses provide protection from the UV rays and are of good quality. The visibility for rear glass is more than 50%. For the side windows, it is generally at least 65%.
Blast the car AC:
If you do not get a shaded parking area and the car gets heated use this technique to cool it down. Roll down the windows and turn on the AC. Put your AC system on high so that the flowing cool air expels the heat.
Use leather upholstery:
Leather seats get cooled down easily once you turn on the car AC. Use fabric covers along with your leather upholstery. Fabric covers do not easily get heated.
