Carroll Shelby’s death was indeed a great loss for the family and friends, together with the entire automotive industry, but it also offered an opportunity for fans and followers to bid for the vehicles owned by Shelby, for the custom vehicle of the American auto wizard are now arriving at the auction houses for public sale. Scheduled to be sold at Vicari’s Biloxi Auction on October 7-14, 2012, the 2009 GT500KR Mustang is the first Shelby-owned vehicle up for grabs with the starting price of $120,000.
Named after Carroll Shelby, the 445 numbered Mustang is in a perfect condition, as it just shows 1600 miles on the odometer. Powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine capable of producing 540-hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, the GT500KR bears the autograph of Shelby on the dashboard. Integrating a carbon fiber hood, splitter and mirror caps, the modified Mustang will be available with the bill of sale from Shelby.
