Ford V8 powered custom trike is a blast to ride

The custom built motorbike or for that matter, trikes with V6 or V8 engines are rarely made. There are a few creative or brave hearts though who actually pursue to create real monsters on two or three wheels. The one we are talking about is a trike with Ford Flathead V8 that makes it a real monster among the trikes. This more interesting than you engineering homework, isn’t it?

Featuring 1946 Ford Flathead Stroke engine under the frame, the custom trike with Ford V8 was built in 2006 and features Mallory distributer ignition, custom gas tank with a cover having old school Stewart Warner gauges and the massive power of the V8 is transferred to the ground with jokey shifted Ford 3 speed gearbox with reverse.

Furthermore, the bike features homemade handlebar with internal throttle, hidden turn signals at the end of the grip, leaf spring mounted custom seat, jet hot coated exhaust and custom dual fan aluminum radiator. The Ford V8 powered trike runs on 17” Goodyear Eagle F1 wheels wrapped in 285/40ZR17 tires, while upfront is 21” wheel is covered in Metzler tire.

Braking to the beast is provided by hot rod inspired custom Buick finned brakes at rear and perimeter brake at front. The trike is easy and a blast to ride, steer and maneuver and gets lot of turns on the go.
