With an all electric powertrain that generates a whopping 2,200hp and 2,213 pound-feet of torque, Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept debuts at Miami International Boat Show this week. The latest boat coming from Mercedes-Benz and its partner Cigarette racing, Cigarette AMG Electric Drive boat concept borrows many components from the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive.
Inspired by Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive, the literally insane all electric powertrain of the boat consists of two units of six liquid cooled electric motors each that get vital juice from four 60-kWh lithium-ion batteries with a total of 240 Kwh and maximum of 400 volts.
Such a powertrain enables Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept to get a top speed of well over 100 mph to get the title of world’s most powerful electric boat ever produced, which matches to Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive’s title of being the fastest and most powerful electric car currently in production. Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept measures 38 feet long and comes with two 22-kilowatt onboard chargers from the SLS AMG Electric Drive as standard which charge the batteries in seven hours with an option to fit onboard charges to reduce the charging time to less than three hours.
