New details of 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series emerge


After spy photographs of 2014 Mercedes-benz SLS AMG Black Series just two weeks back and reports of the latest model catching fire during testing around the Nürburgring track, new details about SLS AMG Black Series emerge lately. The guys at Worldcarfans are able to extract some information from the Mercedes-Benz insider who informed the publication that 2014 SLS AMG Series will have 630 ponies under its long hood.

The power figures are rated at 40hp more than what the standard SLS GT produces. The 6.2 liter V8 engine now enables the beast to get a sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds which is .3 seconds faster than the standard model. The 2014 Mercedes-benz SLS AMG Black Series’ will resemble recently announced SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary edition design wise.

The sources also confirmed that SLS AMG Black Series will get a modified bumper, hood featuring a lower and carbon fiber made center scoop. The front quarter panels will be adorned with massive carbon fiber air intakes. Similar lightweight material will be used for the making of big rear spoiler. Mercedes-benz SLS AMG Black Series will have interior resembling to SL65 AMG Black Series. The car will be available in the third quarter of 2014 and will be a limited run of 100 models for the United States.
