Velomobiles might not be extensively in use ever or they lured the masses during a particular time period either, but that surely doesn’t mean they are ever totally phased out. We often come across some velomobiles in real or read about some designer imaginations of the same, and they are impressive at times. One of the awesome velomobile concepts is pictured above.
The brainchild of Martin Miklica from Czech Republic, the SoftShell concept is a lightweight, two-seater, four wheeled velomobile that uses steel base frame with extended plastic frame tubes. The concept Velomobile is cocooned with two layers of waterproof fabric which is connected with buttons, Velcro and zipper in a similar way as a tent is built.
The SoftShell concept flaunts sporty looks, is light as well as simple to make, ecological and comparatively safer to bikes or other similar vehicles. Featuring front and rear tubes made of steel, the SoftShell velomobile concept also come equipped with lights and seatbelts. On the other, the passengers can use the space beneath the trunk to store some personal stuff; however, if the velomobile is used by a single person, the second seat can also be used to carry luggage.
