As the 2013 Detroit Auto Show inches closer, the automakers have started popping up their vehicles that will debut at NAIAS. As a result, we have a single teaser image of the Urban SUV Concept from Honda. The dark teaser image of what Honda calls as global concept model combines the sporty and dynamic SUV traits with the spacious and functional interiors.
While the images doesn’t reveal much about the design apart from a sleek appearance, there is no word from on the tech spec of the Urban SUV concept aren’t available either. What looks like the crossover variant of the Honda Fit is aimed at doubling the Fit sales by introducing the various body styles to the small subcompact, particularly the crossover and a sedan.
The newest Fit based Urban SUV Concept may likely come equipped with a 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine while a larger 1.8-liter four-cylinder unit might also be on the cards. The possibility of a brand’s new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission even seems imminent. In either of the two engine choices, the Urban SUV concept will most likely feature Japanese automaker’s Earth Dream engine technology to make it fuel efficient.
