VDS GT 001: A new supercar from Belgium

We don’t usually hear about too many updates on autos from Belgium. However, the country now strives to make big from the lucrative supercar market.  Well, yes a new supercar comes from Belgium. Created by Raphael van der Straeten, the car is named as VDS GT 001 and is based on Gillet Vertigo.

Under the hood is the same 4.2-liter V8 sourced from Maserati, which is capable of producing 480 horsepower. Engine is connected with six-speed sequential gearbox that conduit power to the rear wheels. The sprint from 0-100km/h is expected to come in 2.7 seconds. The suspension of the supercar includes two Superimposed Wishbones W/ Shocks and Coil Springs. In order to bring the VDS GT 001 supercar to a halt, there are 330 Mm and 300 Mm Vented Rotor W/ 6-Piston AP Calipers brakes at front and rear respectively.

There is no information available of the interior, but on the exterior you can see a quad headlight design, squared off bodywork as well as front fascia is somewhat similar to Mustangs from 70s. For the more down force at front, there is a massive spoiler, two huge nostrils at the center of the hood for heat extraction, elegantly curved windshield and a boat tail at the rear of roofline, a huge diffuser with two center exit exhaust pipes that not only make its overall looks impressive but unique too.

The body of the car is made of carbonfiber which helps engineers to keep the weight of the car at 990 kg. VDS GT 001 supercar will be a limited run of 22 cars and will be available as GT 001 (in dark grey) and R version (in crimson). No price details are made available as of now.
