Now that we’ve had already introduced you with Mercedes Benz CLS Shooting Brake, there is another surprise waiting out for the brand’s fans. Well yes, we already know that Mercedes is working on a baby CLS, known as CLA. Now the rumor has it that CLA’s shooting brake version is also in the making.
Though there is no confirmation from Mercedes as of now but the model is rumored to go on sale in 2014 in UK and is expected to bear a price tag of $43,000. The vehicle shown here is a computer-generated rendering of CLA Shooting Brake, which will be inspired by the recently unveiled Mercedes Benz CLS Shooting Brake and to inherit some of its traits like soft nose and dramatic swage line treatment. It will be one of the five models to be based on the new Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform.
The CLA Shooting Brake is to come with three engine options. The first engine option will be the same 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol engine of baby CLA in two power options: 121 hp and another with little power gain at 154hp.
The third and top version will come equipped with an engine from CLA 45 AMG – a 2.0 liter four cylinder beast rated at 330 HP and 332 lbs-ft of torque. This version with four-wheel drive will come with a three-stage ESP system as standard and will take 5.1 seconds to run from zero to 60mph, before touching the top speed of 155mph. The CLA Shooting Brake will be up in four and front wheel drive options.
