There are a handful of cars in this world, which claim to be the fastest. No matter which car wins ‘the fastest’ title, all of these are uniquely designed, extremely powerful and but of course out of the reach of common man. Let’s take a look at some of such cars that will simply take your breath away!

SSC Ultimate Aero

Powered by a 6.3 liter, V8 twin-turbo engine that generates up to 1287 of horsepower, the SSC Ultimate Aero is surely going to take you by surprise! Built by SSC North America, this sports car attains a top speed of 412 km/h and weights about 1247 kg. It was designed to use 92-octane gasoline.

Buggati Veyron Super Sport

This car had its way into the Guinness Books of World Records in the year 2007 for being the fastest car on the planet. Equipped with 8 liter engine having quad-turbo W16 that produces as much as 1200 horsepower, this car from Buggati runs up to 267.8 miles per hour. The car managed to keep ‘the fastest’ tag for about 3 consistent years but eventually had to give up as it consisted for a deactivated speed limiter which is usually absent in normal cars. When one activates the speed limiter this car has a top speed of 258 mph.

SSC Tuatara

SSC claims that this car will indeed be the fastest by attaining a maximum speed of 276 mph. However, we still have to wait until this car officially gets introduced. The SSC Tuatara has a 6.9 liter twin turbo V8 engine that generates 1350 of horsepower.

Koenigsegg Agera R

At one point of time, this car had the Guinness Record for the fastest sprint from 0 to 300 km/h in its kitty only to be overtaken by Venom GT. Officially the car has not been tested for its top speed which Koenigsegg claims to be 273 miles per hour. The Agera R has a 5 liter twin turbo V8 engine capable of generating around 1140 horsepower.

Hennessey Venom GT

Wondering how fast is this car? Well, it attains a top speed of 265.7 mph. Thanks to its 7 liter twin turbo V8 engine that churns out 1244 horsepower. The Venom GT has been certified by VBOX but not by Guinness. However the car did get into the books of world record when it completed the 0 to 300 km/h sprint in a matter of 13.63 seconds.
