The inventor and founder of Inventist Inc, Shane Chen had a desire to create the simplest mode of transportation. He succeeded in his attempt by creating the Solowheel. The Solowheel is a motorized unicycle. If you have tried a unicycle, you would know about the skills required to handle it. With some practice, you will be able to tame the Solowheel. All the variants of this personal transporter can reach a maximum speed of about 10 mph and a travel a distance of about 15 and a half miles on a single charge.

This device is one of the weirdest things to take you from one place to another. The inventor of the powerbocker, Alexander Boeck got inspired by the Kangaroos and designed these. The powerbocker is a pair of boots, which fasten below your knees, your feet are on footplates below which there are leaf springs made of fiberglass, resting on hoofs or rubber pads. The beauty of these springs is that you will be able to take nine feet wide strides, jump about 5 feet high and run at 20 mph.

This is a cool concept and an even cooler design. This is a motorcycle on one wheel, which can be taken almost everywhere where you could walk. Although the performance of this personal transporter is not impressive as far as we think. The battery of the machine lasts up to just 10 miles on a single charge and the maximum speed attained by it is merely 10 mph. With some upgrades, the future of this transporter would be bright.

To us, these look like a pair of handcuffs without the chain in between. The Orbitwheels is a set of wheels that a user riders just like a skateboard. A footstep on each of the wheels makes the ride easy and better than that of inline skates. With some practice, you would be able to maneuver these wheels with skill and ease. This set of wheels is another invention by Shane Chen of the Solowheel fame.

Even though you will not be cruising at great speeds, these personal transporters will make you life easy and save you money. When you travel using these, there are no fuel expenses incurred and no emissions are emitted, making them an environment friendly choice.
